Structured doctoral programs

At the University of Bayreuth a number of structured doctoral programs has emerged. As with the individual promotion, a primary supervisor is elected. Usually you will be supported by two further mentors during your doctorate.

In addition to the work on your dissertation, an accompanying program of further training such as “soft skills” and additional qualifications is encouraged.

Doctorates in structured programs are often multidisciplinary, focus however on a specific research area and are part of a project.

The systematic and intensive supervision within these programs usually enables a doctorate to be completed within three to four years.
